A note from the Ayurvedic Practitioner…
Ayurveda, the science of a
healthy way of living, considers health as a vibrant equilibrium of Body, Mind,
Sense organs and the Soul. Ayurveda is arguably the world’s oldest system of healing
and entirely based on Nature’s healing organization. This gentle yet profound
system of healing was realized in a state of meditation several thousand years
ago and continues to be a living tradition.
Our internal environment
has much to do with diurnal variations in the external surroundings. Disease is
a result of not being at ease with the flow of nature.
For Ayurveda, a dynamic
healthy life in all phases is an un-ending balance between an individual and
his environment. In order to accomplish this balance, Ayurveda focuses on
individualistic needs and ecological influences. For example, as our dress-code
is different in summer and winter, from an Ayurvedic standpoint, diet in summer
is completely different in winter. This holds also true for exercise and
lifestyle. Consuming the same foods in all seasons causes stagnation and
accumulation of noxious byproducts that result in imbalance.
As no two persons are same
in their physical, mental and spiritual planes, each individual is unique in
this ancient wisdom. When promoting health or helping to heal an ailment, the
individualistic and holistic approach is the Ayurvedic way.
Yoga is very much part of
Ayurvedic healing, creating awareness of the unified state of body, mind and
soul for a healthy long life.
Remedies used for health
promotion and disease management are herbs which have materialized from sacred
origins and unprecedented human use. With its extensive branches addressing
various health needs in all spheres of life, Ayurveda makes use of remedies for
detoxification, rejuvenation, delaying premature aging, disease management,
dietetics, daily and seasonal regimens and to increase vitality.
And finally, the ultimate
goal of Ayurveda is to ascend from Physical well being to mental precision and
eventually to spiritual consciousness.
Our customers' personal experiences using Ayurveda
I am the father of two young children and since they started school I was plagued by an almost endless stream of flues, colds, and pretty much whatever illness they brought home with them. I initially consulted an Ayurvedic practicioner for long-term dietary advice - not for the endless minor illnesses mentioned above. I felt I wasn't sure about how I was eating, and wanted guidance. I was amazed by the accuracy of the diagnosis that he made, touching on everything from my sleep patterns, to my mental state, to the history of my parents' health. I made a few adjustments to my diet and started taking some Ayurvedic remedies as well. The first thing that happened was that I stopped getting sick, and haven't been since the treatment began! Based on this, I am even more confident that the long term diet modifications will work as well. It has been a very rewarding experience, and one that has definitely improved my quality of life in the present, and, hopefully, for a long time to come.

For me, Ayurveda is the truth. It is a science with vaste knowledge that goes beyond what all other medecines know and teach. I am amazed each time i visit my Ayurvedic practitioner because he can accurately know things about my body, mind and soul that i may not be aware of. I remember once being scared of an image i saw and my whole body jumped when i saw it. A week later, when i saw my practitioner, he took my pulse and told me that something had scared me recently! I can't believe that he was subtle enough to make that assessment and that this small stress could still be felt in my body. Ayurveda has done so much for me. I have learned how to live better in order to feel better. It is truely a way of life.

I have suffered from a chronic stuff nose since birth. Ever since i was little, breathing through my mouth was the norm and doing any sort of pranayam or breathing technique was just not possible for me. My practitioner subscribed a nasal oil called Anu Thailam which i used for a little under a week. It cleared up my nose LONG TERM for the first time in my life. 4 days of nasal oil eliminated my chronic stuffy nose and alieviated my allergies. I am so grateful to have found this wonderful holistic system.
K.B., breathing normally since 2006.
